WEST LINN OR
Located at the junction of the Willamette and Tualatin Rivers, only 12 miles from Portland, West Linn is one of Oregon’s oldest settlements. It is commonly known for its beautiful landscape of hills, trees and of course rivers but the breathtaking views aren’t the only thing West Linn has going for it. The city was voted one of the best places to live in Oregon in 2009, 2011, 2015 and again in 2019. Also voted one of the safest cities in Oregon for several years and counting which only makes it a clear choice for families and children.
It is true that the neighborhoods are located on hilltops with scenic views of the cascade mountains but there is also a large focus on community, more specifically parks and recreational areas. West Linn is home to one of the nation’s largest non-profits, named the Arbor Day Foundation, dedicated to planting trees all across the state. There is a great pride in the city and their use of their use of natural resources. One of their biggest being the use of energy harvested from nearby Willamette Falls.
The city of West Linn is inhabited by mostly upper middle class families and is a member of the West Linn – Wilsonville School District. This district serves both West Linn, Wilsonville but also a more rural part of Clackamas county. The schools are considered some of the top in the state and their test scores reflect that. 90% of these school graduates go one to continue their education which is an impressive statistic.
