Milwaukie is a suburb just east of Portland right on the edge of the Clackamas River, neighboring the communities of Clackamas and Oak Grove. As Portland saw a rise in popularity, Milwaukie boomed and over the last decade has been working diligently to revive this once small adjacent community into a Portland extension suburb. It’s riverfront properties are getting a makeover and new developments are being added, as well as parks. With the boom in real estate also came a boom in Milwaukie’s local economy. To date there are zero storefront vacancies in it’s downtown sector. That is quite the accomplishment in such a short amount of time.
Milwaukie is a part of the North Clackamas School District and offers several public, private and alternative school options for kids k-12. This city is also home to Clackamas Community College Harmony. They are a community that thrives by bringing people together and uses the power of tradition to do just that. There are many annual events the town hosts like Sunday Farmers Market in the summer, Christmas Ships Party in the winter, The Umbrella Parade, and concerts all year long name a few. All of which draw a crowd.
