GRESHAM OR
Located Immediately east of Portland between the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood is Oregon’s 4th largest city, Gresham. Once known for its vast farmland, homesteads and agriculture, the city has boomed in the last century to over 105k residents. Gresham also neighbors a few smaller communities including Troutdale, Wood Village and Sandy, some of which share the city’s resources.
TRANSPORT & TRANSIT
Both Portland’s Mass Transit TriMet system and MAX Light Rail service Gresham east to west in many locations as well as the Sandy Area Metro shuttle bus. Interstate 84 is the city’s major access road from the west and US26, or Mt. Hood Highway, is Gresham’s route to the east.

SCHOOLING & EDUCATION
There are 3 school districts within Gresham city limits; Centennial, Gresham-Barlow and Reynolds. The city also has a few private school options. It is home to Mount Hood Community College as well, which offers residents an opportunity to earn their associates degrees in an array of subjects.
GEOGRAPHY & CLIMATE
Winters are a little harsher here due to its proximity to Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge. There is usually much more ice and snowfall in Gresham than the cities west of Portland experience, like Beaverton and Hillsboro whose climates remain more wet and mild.

Located minutes from Mount Hood, Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area there are many outdoor recreational activities to enjoy in Gresham. The city is also a short drive to Mt. Hood National forest which means the opportunity for adventure is endless. With several hikes and lakes, rivers and camp sites to choose from you’ll never get tired of exploring Oregon’s wild beauty.
CULTURE & LEISURE
In the summer months the Community College hosts The Mt. Hood Jazz festival and draws quite a crowd. The festival lasts 3 days and over the years has brought in some high level performers as well as gives some of the local high schools a chance to show off their chops. Gresham is a proud suburban city surrounded by beauty and art in every form.
