Home Inspection in Redmond Oregon
OVERVIEW
Redmond is about 15 miles North of Bend in the Cascade Range and 144 miles east of Portland. Located in Central Oregon’s high desert, and literally situated on a plateau in Deschutes County.
TRANSPORT & TRANSIT
Redmond has the only commercial airport in Central Oregon. Redmond Airport also serves as a training facility for forestry and fireflight demonstrations.
SCHOOLING & EDUCATION
Redmond School District offers 11 public schools, 1 private school and 1 charter school. George Fox University has a campus there as well providing a private christian college with 2 and 4 year degrees.
GEOGRAPHY & CLIMATE
Climate and geography is the same as its neighboring city of Bend with cool nights, sunny days, and snowy winters. The weather remains mostly dry, even with the cooler temps. The Radon levels in this region are steady in the moderate range and would require homes to be Radon tested, and possibly mitigated, to keep levels in a consistent low and safe range.
ECONOMY & GROWTH
As the population of Bend expands so do the surrounding towns and areas, both in residential and tourist markets. PacWest Home Inspections serves them all. Eagle Crest Resort, however, is one of the city’s largest employers and tax payers.
THINGS TO DO
Smith Rock State park is a favorite amongst hikers with its breathtaking red rock formations. Might even catch a wedding reception during the summer months in its day use area.
The Redmond Caves are another great tourist attraction. But there really is something for everyone who enjoys being outdoors. Fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, and golfing are common attractions. But for the more extreme crowd you don’t have to look far to find activities like mountain biking, rock climbing, white water rafting, and paragliding.
